Richard attended the 2nd Arab Outsourcing Conference & Expo 2010 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai on behalf one of his clients, the sourcing consultants Alsbridge. He delivered a Master Class on Cloud Computing & CloudSourcing and also chaired the second day of the Conference.

Richard retired from his role as Chair of the Trustees of the De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust. In his 6 years as Chair the Trust raised and invested £9m in the refurbishment of the De La Warr Pavilion, a Grade 1 listed icon of the Modernist movement - and relaunched the Pavilion as a now financially secure not-for-profit social enterprise www.dlwp.com He has since been made an Honorary Patron of the Pavilion, alongside Eddie Izzard!
